It's time for warp speed and to re-live J.J. Abrams' incredible reboot of the immortal Star Trek on The Movie Defenders podcast! We go back a few years and pour over this ambitious film as Abrams gave us something fresh while tugging at our nostalgia heart-strings. We play many scenes right from the film and analyze the movie in a way no one else will. But before that we tackle a LOT of news including our viewings of The Irishman and A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, while giving a fond farewell to the late, great Caroll Spinney. Then, we review the new James Bond and Wonder Woman trailers before revealing our picks for the top 5 older TV shows that need a movie reboot! Not only that but Donald reviews a history of Star Trek scores and examines the tightrope act that Michael Giacchino had to do to make the 2009 score on a new segment of Keeping Score. Finally we go through the entire 2009 Star Trek movie from beginning to end and discuss its brilliance. So, go to red alert, arm photon torpedoes, and get ready to go to warp on this PACKED episode of The Movie Defenders podcast!
